OUR FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

Teresa Crandon is our Family Support worker. Being a parent can sometimes feel challenging and overwhelming at times.

Teresa is here to offer support to you and your family. She can take messages to pass on to your child’s teacher, signpost you to other professionals and most importantly offer a friendly, non-judgmental listening ear.

If Teresa is unable to help you she will always try and find someone who can. You will be able to find her at the front of the school during drop off or pick up times Monday-Thursday. Or you can ring the school and leave a message for her and Teresa will always return your call.

Home Visits

Teresa can visit you at home and provide any support you may need.

Please contact Teresa if you would like to arrange a Home Visit.

1:1 support

1:1 support is available for families wishing to have a chat privately with Teresa. At home, in school, over the telephone or an online call.

Some of the things Teresa can support you with are:

  • Signposting to other services.
  • Emotional support.
  • Form filling or information.

Drop-in at school

If you prefer you can make an appointment to visit Teresa in school to have a chat and a hot drink.

Teresa can pass on messages to your child’s class teacher, or from the teacher to you.

Walk and Talk (New!)

Walk and Talk with Teresa (and any children you may have at home are welcome too) is a great way to have a catch up 1:1 or as a small group. As well as getting out and about in the fresh air for your own mental health well-being and exercise, you can have the opportunity to discuss things that might be on your mind.

What is your Local Offer?

Your Local Offer is a "one stop shop" for all things SEN in your area for information and services. Your Local Offer is specific to your Local Authority. Your Local Authority is the council where you live, not necessarily where the school is.

Short breaks

Short breaks provide opportunities for disabled children and young people to spend time away from their families and have fun; they also provide families with a break from their caring responsibilities.

How can I access Short Breaks?

Each Local Authority is different in their referral process.

Wokingham takes self referrals from families as well as referrals from schools.
